Ajmer police have apprehended six members of a cyber fraud gang that allegedly opened fake bank accounts and SIM cards using the fingerprints of around 1,000 women. The gang reportedly operated under the guise of a government scheme, deceiving women into providing their biometric data.
According to authorities, the gang exploited the trust of these women, falsely claiming they were part of a government initiative. The police’s investigation revealed that the fraudsters had been systematically collecting fingerprints to facilitate their illegal activities.
The arrest of the suspects is part of a broader effort by law enforcement to combat cybercrime and protect citizens from identity theft and financial fraud. Authorities are urging individuals to remain vigilant and cautious when sharing personal information.
