The Adina Masjid, located in the Malda district of West Bengal, has recently sparked renewed discussions on social media. Former cricketer Yusuf Pathan shared images of the mosque on the platform X (formerly known as Twitter), highlighting its historical significance.
According to Yusuf Pathan, the Adina Masjid is a remarkable structure built in the 14th century by Sultan Sikandar Shah, the second ruler of the Ilyas Shahi dynasty. The mosque was constructed between 1373 and 1375 CE and was regarded as the largest mosque in the Indian subcontinent during its time.
Pathan emphasized the architectural grandeur of the mosque, which is considered a prime example of Bengal’s architectural heritage. The discussions surrounding the Adina Masjid reflect its importance not only as a religious site but also as a significant cultural landmark in the region.
